cedar valley is out today

Sep 26 2018

Cedar Valley is out TODAY in all good Australian bookstores, as a digital download, and on audiobook. I hope you all enjoy it very much.

More reviews have come in. The Sunday Times (WA) said: ‘[Cedar Valley] delivers in spades. . . Throsby’s rich characterisation left this reader feeling as though she’d made lifelong friends by the final page.’ And Readings said, ‘In Cedar Valley Holly Throsby has crafted a quiet mystery which brims with the energy of its characters’ inner lives. . . What is wonderful about Cedar Valley is the sense of a complete community. Throsby keeps a skilful pace, checking in with the towns inhabitants, both old and new. She moves you along so well at the pace of the people of Cedar Valley that you do not realise straightaway the ways in which she is subverting the expectations of the small-town mystery. . . a very satisfying journey.’

Cedar Valley book tour

Sep 14 2018

To celebrate the release of my second novel, Cedar Valley, I will be doing a series of in-conversation book events in October in NSW, QLD, VIC and SA. See here for dates, locations and ticket info.

Also, the first review of the book has come in from the good people at Books + Publishing. It says: ‘This is a masterful novel . . . Cedar Valley is written with an assured hand and is essential reading for those who like their Australian rural tales with a touch of mystery. Readers who loved Goodwood will find even more to love here.’ Four stars. Thanks, B+P!

Cedar Valley will be in all good bookstores from September 26.

a show with sally & sarah

Sep 13 2018

I’m playing a special one-off show with my dear Seeker Lover Keeper pals, Sarah Blasko and Sally Seltmann, on October 27 at St Stephens Church in Newtown. This show is a fundraiser for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, and all proceeds from ticket sales go to people doing it tough in the inner west. The three of us will be performing a short solo set each, and then…who knows what might happen? See you there.
