Holly Throsby is a musician from Sydney, Australia. She has released five solo albums: On Night (2004), Under the Town (2006), A Loud Call (2008), a children’s album called See! (2010), and Team (2011). Most of Holly’s albums were recorded with experimental producer Tony Dupé in NSW (in a house on Saddleback Mountain, a house in the Kangaroo Valley, and a 19th Century church in Wildes Meadow). A Loud Call was recorded with Mark Nevers (Lambchop, Silver Jews) at his house in Nashville.

Holly has been nominated for four ARIA Awards – two for Best Female Artist, one for Best Children’s Album, and one as part of Seeker Lover Keeper, her band with Sally Seltmann & Sarah Blasko. Seeker Lover Keeper’s debut album was recorded in New York with producer Victor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave) and Jim White (Dirty Three, Cat Power) on drums. It was released in Australia in 2011, debuted at #3 on the ARIA chart, and has received gold accreditation.

Holly has toured Australia, and the world, many times. She mostly travels with her band, The Hello Tigers (Bree van Reyk & Jens Birchall), and has toured with artists such as Joanna Newsom, Bill Callahan, Paul Kelly, M. Ward, The Tallest Man On Earth, Devendra Banhart, Mark Kozelek and The Handsome Family. She also likes to sing duets and has done so with, among others, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Glen Hansard, Hayden and Andrew Bird.

In her spare time, Holly is a council member for the animal protection institute, Voiceless, and is interested in contemporary literature, cryptic crosswords, small towns, and dogs.
